Monday July 21st 2014

Action on Hearing Loss.Action on Hearing Loss is working in Partnership with the Health and Social Care Trust to provide a free hearing aid clinic in Carrickfergus.

The clinic will be held in the Community Forum, Old Town Hall, Carrickfergus, on Wednesday August 13 from 10am to 12 noon.

This is an open clinic so no appointment needed. Please call in if you need your tubing replaced, batteries or information on how to get the best from your hearing aid or have any concerns about your hearing.

The Hear to Help project is a volunteer led service and Action on Hearing Loss is looking for volunteers to deliver the support in local communities.

One in six people in the UK have a hearing loss. Within Northern Ireland there are 300,000 deaf, hard of hearing or people with Tinnitus.

People are urged to consider volunteering for just to hours a month to provide their community with a free hearing aid clinic. Volunteers will be fully trained to re–tube hearing aids and provide basic maintenance to those in need. Each clinic gives out free batteries, wipes, tubing and information to assist those with a hearing loss.
