The annual Synod of the Diocese of Connor takes place in Carrickfergus on Wednesday October 1.
Around 300 members from all of Connor’s parishes are expected to attend the Synod, which shall run over two sessions.
It opens with a Celebration of Holy Communion in St Nicholas Parish Church at 2pm, before the business of Synod gets underway in the nearby Methodist Centre at 3.30pm.
This session will include the Presidential Address by the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, and the Report of the Diocesan Council, which will include the launch of the new Connor website.
Reports of Boards and Committees will also be heard, and there will be a presentation from the Commission on Episcopal Ministry and Structures by the Rev Andrew forster.
Following an evening meal in St Nicholas Parish Centre, the evening session of Synod will focus on Keynote speaker Neil Hudson, Director of the Imagine Project of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, and his topic is Beyond Sunday.
There will also be a presentation on youth and children’s work in the diocese.
