The Northern Ireland Military Wives Choir was the special guests at the Royal British Legion (Lisburn Branch) Remembrance Day Service in Lisburn Cathedral.
The service was conducted by the rector, the Rev Canon Sam Wright and the vicar, the Rev Simon Genoe. Canon Wright, who gave the address, welcomed the members of the Lisburn Branch of the Royal British Legion, the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of Lisburn City Council, Lagan Valley MP Jeffrey Donaldson and special guests.
The Scripture lessons were read by Jackie McCartney (President of Lisburn Branch of the Royal British Legion) and Lagan Valley MP Jeffrey Donaldson. Andrew Skelly (Cathedral Organist) together with the church choir and the Northern Ireland Military Wives Choir led the congregational hymns that included, ‘Thy hand O God has Guided’, ‘God is our strength and refuge’ and ‘Guide me O thou great Jehovah’.
The Northern Ireland Military Wives Choir sang the anthem, ‘Homeward Bound’ accompanied by Claire Harrison (Musical Director) on keyboard and Andrew Skelly (Cathedral Organist) on tin whistle.
