A group of young people from the Timothy Christian High School, Chicago, joined the congregation of St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, for Eucharist on Sunday January 11.

The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, presided at the Eucharist, and spoke to the young visitors at the end of the service.

The teenagers are on an Irish Pilgrimage Tour, described as a ‘discipleship trip’ by their teacher Mac Wiener, who brought them to St Anne’s.

Their tour guide is Keiran Wimberly, who is no stranger to Belfast.   Her husband Alex was minister in Macracken Memorial Presbyterian Church in South Belfast for some years, when the Dean of Belfast, the Very Rev John Mann, was rector of St John’s Malone, the neighbouring Church of Ireland parish.

Keiran worked closely with the Rev Grace Clunie, who was one of the speakers in the Cathedral Autumn Talks programme in 2014, in the Centre for Celtic Spirituality in Armagh.
