Engage Connor Youth is encouraging young people and leaders to attend the Day of Prayer in Lisburn Cathedral.

On Tuesday February 17, a cathedral in every diocese in Ireland will be hosting 12 hours of prayer for young people and youth ministry.

Lisburn Cathedral will be the venue for Connor’s day of prayer. The prayer space will be open from 8am to 8pm in the main body of the Cathedral and everyone is invited to drop in.

The day will begin and end with an act of worship, but people can call in at any time, either on their own or with others to use the prayer stations or simply find a space to pray for young people and youth work in Connor Diocese and beyond.

Organisers Zara Genoe and Sharon Hamill, joint chairs of Engage Connor Youth, quoted from Corrie ten Boom: “Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.”

They said: “As a youth council we believe that this day of prayer is essential and will be a significant event both for the youth work and young people in our Diocese of Connor and across Ireland.”
