The Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade (CLCGB) has recently appointed two development workers whose roles will impact on parishes in Connor Diocese.

They are Matthew Nicholl and Victoria Speers. The CLCGB is a Church of Ireland uniformed youth organisation for both boys and girls aged from four to 21.

Matthew and Victoria said: “We meet in numerous churches throughout Northern Ireland teaching children about God and facilitating them to develop new skills in a fun and caring environment.

“If you are a young person who is looking for a group to belong to where you can be involved in fun filled activities throughout the year we would love to hear from you and to plug you into your nearest group.”

Matthew and Victoria would also welcome inquiries from anyone looking for opportunities to volunteer in a local church as a leader in the CLCGB.

“We have recently received a government grant to help churches who would like to start a group. If you think your parish could benefit from a new and vibrant youth organisation the CLCGB could be for you,” the development workers stated.

“We would be delighted to speak to you or meet you and answer any questions you may have about how we can help you to embrace this exciting opportunity.”

The CLAGB has been endorsed by a few well-known names:

“As the Chaplain of the Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade I can highly recommend the work of this organisation in giving children a place to belong and to grow in their faith.” – The Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Reverend Dr Richard Clarke

“I warmly commend the Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade. Its present growth (especially through the formation of new companies) testifies to its re-discovery and renewal within our church.” – Dean Robert Townley (Regimental Chaplain)

“The CLCGB provides an excellent opportunity for children and young people to engage with each other and their leaders in a structured Christian environment that enables them to develop into well rounded individuals through a variety of exciting activities.” – Terrence Cadden (Seagoe Parish)
