Crowds took advantage of the summer weather and flocked into All Saints’ Church, Linn Road, Larne, on Friday June 12 for the annual parish fete.

Picking up a sizzling burger at the barbecue, punters made their way into the church to browse round the treasure-trove of craft and gift stalls including paintings, knitwear, jewellery, handmade personalised gifts, cakes, cards and candles.

Bargains were picked up at the toy stall, and prizes won at the tombola and bottle stall, while outside the children played on the bouncy castle, fished for ducks and clambered aboard the Fire Engine

In the hall adults enjoyed teas and home-made cake while children entered a colouring competition. The winners of this were Lauren Holden (age 8-11 group) and Gabriella Da Costa (seven and under age group).  On the way out many people stopped off at the plant stall to add some colour to their gardens.

The Rev Roger Thompson, rector of St Patrick’s, Cairncastle with All Saints’, Craigyhill, said: “It was wonderful to see so many people filling the church and grounds – that’s what a church is really for!

“We are so grateful for the support we receive every year for this event, and especially to local businesses and groups such as the Larne Firefighters, Inver Garden Centre, Dunnes Stores and McDowell’s butchers.”
