The nine members of Muckamore Parish’s Flute Band Church have been putting in some hard labour in Concepción, Paraguay, where they are on a mission trip with SAMS, the South American Mission Society.

They have been working on a church building, clearing land, digging mud and stones, clearing a sewer, woodwork, painting, patio building and much more.

And there has been time for relaxation and football with local young people who have been keen to help out.

All set for a little painting!

The band members, who are led by the Rev William Orr, rector of Muckamore, Killead and Gartree, have also played at church services, and held the odd ‘parade’ through the streets of Concepción.

They are getting some help from Lisburn woman Natasha Conway, who works with SAMS in Argentina.
