A Sponsor a Slate Appeal organised by St Colmanell’s Parish Church, Ahoghill, raised just over £45,000.

This sum was further boosted by a Christmas Tree Festival held in late November which raised £15,000, with the money split between the NI Hospice and the Church Building Fund.

Work has now been completed on the roof of the historic church – consecrated in 1865.

Mrs Jean Boyce, representing NI Hospice, attended a service in St Colmanell’s where she was presented with a cheque for £7,500 by Mrs Rosemary Frayne, organiser of Christmas Tree Festival, and the rector of Ahoghill and Portglenone, the Rev Gary Millar.
