Lisburn Cathedral had a truly super Holy Week and Easter as more than 150 people embarked on the Big Church Serve.

From Wednesday to Saturday, the team litter-picked, painted, planted, prayed and much more across the city centre and Hillhall Estate and vicar the Rev Simon Genoe said the response was ‘amazing.’

One of the many highlights was Superhero World which saw over 2,500 people pass through the Cathedral over the four days with more than 3,000 specially designed comics telling the message of Easter handed out!

Simon said: “A fitting end (but really just a beginning) on Easter Sunday morning was our Ice Cream Sundae service in which we celebrated the resurrection with joyous worship, and everyone had an ice cream!

“Our theme was Transformers, and we looked at how while we can change our clothes in a phone-box to look like Superman, we need to visit the tomb if we want to be changed inside out!

“Praise God for an amazing Holy Week!”
