The Rev Andrew Campbell will lead the Northern Ireland Somme Centenary Festival of Remembrance Service in Carrickfergus this evening, Friday July 1.
Andrew is currently Curate Assistant of Bangor Abbey and will be instituted as Incumbent of the Parish of Skerry, Rathcavan and Newtowncrommelin on August 24. He has been asked to serve as Chaplain to the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Audrey Wales MBE, and it is in this capacity he will lead the Act of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Carrickfergus.
This is part of the Somme Centenary Festival of Remembrance. It will include a parade by veterans at 7pm and a Beating of the Retreat and Concert beside Carrickfergus Castle led by Aled Jones and the Band of the Irish Guards. For further details, follow the link below.
