Countdown to Connor Takes the Castle youth weekend

Friday August 5th 2016

The annual Connor Takes the Castle youth weekend is almost upon us, with young people from across the diocese preparing for some great fun and fellowship.

Sessions over the weekend, which runs from September 2-4 in beautiful Castlewellan Castle, will be led by Diocesan Youth Officer Christina Baillie and Church Army Evangelist Stephen Whitten, from the North Belfast Centre of Mission.

The weekend is a great opportunity for all young people across Connor to travel with friends from their local parish and connect with other young people for an action-packed break.

There will be delicious food, challenging talks, and the opportunity to really make a splash in some of the outdoor activities!

The cost of the weekend is £50 and includes everything once groups arrive at Castlewellan. This is the third Connor Takes the Castle weekend.

Christina said: “I am looking forward to seeing groups from all over Connor joining together and hearing more of God’s character. The diocesan weekend is a real opportunity for developing community and so many young people have talked to me about the positive impact it has had on their faith and helping them to feel part of the wider church.

“I would love to see groups coming for the first time and groups of all sizes will be incredibly welcome.”
