Northern Ireland Faith Map Project

Monday September 5th 2016

faith mapNICVA and the Rural Community Network (RCN) have embarked on creating a Faith Map of Northern Ireland.

This work has been commissioned by the Department for Communities to support the work of the Community Faith Forum and community faith-based organisations.

NICVA and RCN are developing a database of all religious and community faith based organisations in Northern Ireland, with the aim of better mapping these organisations and developing a better understanding of the size, scope and work of this sector.

The database will be used to develop the policy voice of the faith sector, develop the skills of staff and volunteers within the sector, and to conduct research to understand the sectors’ needs.

NICVA and RCN are appealing for faith based organisations to help in the process by providing accurate, up-to-date information.

Information will be carefully protected and stored in a secure database. It will be kept confidential, in accordance with the Data Protection Act, except where disclosure is required and permitted by law.

To find our more, or take part in the process, please visit the NICVA website or email NICVA’s research officer Rachel Shannon at Rachel.shannon@nicva.org or ring 028 9087 7777.
