The United Parish of Ballymoney, Finvoy & Rasharkin held a Wedding Dress Festival in St Patrick’s Parish Church, Ballymoney, from Friday September 23 to Sunday September 25.
A stunning array of 67 bridal gowns was on display. The oldest dresses dated from 1850 and 1873 and were dark in colour. White wedding dresses only came into fashion during Queen Victoria’s reign.
There were quite a few grandmother/mother/daughter dresses on show and it was lovely to see the fashion change over the years.
The event was expertly styled by Velvet Ribbon who had real artist flair and attention to detail. Visitors were able to view the dresses up close and enjoy the accompanying photographs.
The ladies of the church served cream teas in the Old Schoolhouse which were enjoyed by many. Thank you to everyone who made the event such a huge success.
