Monday January 16th 2017

Mike Bassous, General Secretary of the Bible Society in Lebanon, visiting a UNHCR refugee camp.

The Church of Ireland & Methodist Chaplaincy at Queen’s University, Belfast, will be hosting an evening with Mike Bassous, the General Secretary of the Bible Society in Lebanon, in partnership with the Bible Society in Northern Ireland on Thursday January 26 at 7.30pm.

The Bible Society says: “Our television screens are full of images and stories from the Middle East, and our hearts break for those people we see who have lost everything and struggle to find meaning amongst the rubble and destruction. But what stories are we not hearing? What about the stories of hope?

“We are thrilled that Mike will be spending time with us here in Northern Ireland, sharing his story of hope. Take this opportunity to come along and hear his first–hand account of what the reality of life is in the Middle East.

“The challenge that he brings might shake us somewhat, but the stories of hope that he has to share will amaze you. Somehow, in the midst of war and an atmosphere of persecution, God is still at work. His Kingdom is still advancing. We would love for you to come and hear Mike’s message from the Middle East.”

The evening is free to attend, but due to demand, registration is required. Please click here to reserve your place.
