Coffee morning as staff wish Rosemary a happy retirement

Wednesday April 4th 2018

Bishop Alan Abernethy helps his PA Mrs Rosemary Patterson to slice into her retirement cake at a coffee morning on March 27.

On Tuesday March 27 it was the turn of staff in Church of Ireland House to say farewell to the Bishop of Connor’s PA Mrs Rosemary Patterson, who retired at the end of the month.

Rosemary has been full time Secretary / PA to Bishop Alan Abernethy since he became Bishop of Connor 10 years ago, and was part-time secretary to his predecessor, Bishop Alan Harper, for three years before that.

Staff from the offices of the dioceses of Connor, Down and Dromore, Board of Education, Press Office and the Church of Ireland Youth Department gathered on the ground floor for coffee, tea and buns as people took the opportunity to wish Rosemary and her husband Jim well in their retirement.

Thankfully Rosemary won’t be a stranger as her husband Jim is Connor Glebes Secretary and a member of Diocesan Council, and her daughter Helen works as a receptionist / administrator with Connor Diocese!

So – from all the team at Church House – best wishes Rosemary!

Rosemary’s successor as Bishop’s PA is Mrs Lorraine Ogilby – we will carry a profile of Lorraine once she settles into her role.
