Enjoying the Merry Opera Company’s production of Handel’s Messiah at Holy Trinity Woodburn.

Holy Trinity Woodburn hosted the Merry Opera Company production of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday night, April 7.

In this dramatisation, 12 strangers seek spiritual comfort in their struggle to understand the world.  Singing together in a church, they inspire each other to pick up the ragged ends of their faith and look to the future with hope.

One hundred and eighty people enjoyed a wonderful evening of music, voices and drama. The familiar words and music of the Messiah were enhanced with the dramatisation of it by the singers.

The rector, the Rev Dr Alan McCann said: “This was a truly moving and inspiring production which brought new life and insight to the familiar.”
