A special service was held in Belfast Cathedral on Friday June 15 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the ordination of a number of Connor clergy. The service was hosted by the Dean of Belfast, the Very Rev Stephen Forde, and three of the four clergy ordained in June 2008 were present – the Rev Helen MacArthur, the Rev John Farr and the Rev Martin Hilliard.

Dean’s Vicar at Belfast Cathedral, the Rev Canon Mark Niblock, was ordained with Helen, John and Martin, but unfortunately was unable to be present.

Helen is currently Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Ardclinnis, Tickmacrevan, Layde and Cushendun; John is part-time Priest-in-Charge in Stoneyford Parish, and Martin, a former curate in Larne and Inver with Glynn and Raloo, is now retired.

Flashback to June 2008 – Bishop Alan Abernethy and other clergy with the four new deacons at their ordination service. We have (front row) the Rev Canon Mark Niblock, 2nd from left; the Rev Martin Hilliard, 3rd from left; Bishop Alan, centre; the Rev Helen MacArthur, 2nd from right and the Rev John Farr, right.
