Superheroes in the making in St Michael’s, Belfast, last week!

Superhero Training Academy Kids’ Week in the Lower Shankill last week was a great success!

Making Music.

More than 40 children learned new skills in football, drama, puppetry, hip hop, baking, arts & crafts and had a great time eating dinner together and at the Friday family barbecue.

‘Mr & Mrs Incredible,’ aka Victoria Jackson from Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade (CLCGB) and Josh Barr, Children’s Ministry & Outreach Worker in Church of Ireland Lower Shankill (COILS), led the talks, songs, challenges and more on ‘Bible Superheroes’ and several children responded by wanting Jesus to be their Superhero in charge of their lives.

Cake making.

The 20+ volunteers, many of them young people, did a great job. Parish Development Officer Heather Carson said: “It was incredibly humbling to see the children having so much fun, listening intently to the stories of our bible heroes and responding with such enthusiasm.

“The week was greatly enriched by our partnerships with Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade, Barnardos, our PSNI Neighbourhood Team, ROC NI and our colleagues from Connect Base, and we are very grateful for their support.”

You will find lots more photos of this fantastic week in COILS on the St Michael’s Parish Facebook page.

Lots of concentration as well a good fun.
