Book early for New Wine Sligo 2019!

Monday October 22nd 2018

It’s never too early to make plans for next summer, and the organisers of New Wine Sligo 2019 are encouraging people to book early for the conference next July.

In a letter to parishes, the Ven David McClay, Archdeacon of Down and Leader of New Wine Ireland, writes that attendance at the Summer Conference would be of great value to clergy and their congregation.

“For me, the Sligo Summer Conference has been a significant time for both myself and my congregation, as well as for many churches and church leaders across Ireland and I want to encourage you to think about coming along in 2019,” David writes.

“New Wine Sligo is a summer holiday conference for all ages. With great programmes which cater to all, parents can relax and enjoy themselves knowing their kids are well cared for and having a great time.

“For adults there is first class Bible teaching, as well as a wide range of seminars to help address a lot of the practical challenges faced by all Christians. From parenting challenges, to environmental issues, dealing with our finances, relationships – there are over 60 seminars to choose from during the week.

“The conference also encourages and provides space for each person to take time to meet and connect with God, receive prayer ministry and engage in worship, all in the beautiful country surroundings in Sligo. With a range of late evening special events as well, this is much more than a conference and really something not to be missed.”

David, who is rector of Willowfield Parish, continues: “As a church leader I found taking a group of people from the church with me to a New Wine summer conference was invaluable – we got to spend valuable time together, pray together, learn together and dream together.

“As you can tell – I do feel passionately about this conference and want to commend it to you, ask you to plan to come next year and to bring at least one other person or family with you.  I am sure you won’t regret it.

“By booking before the end of November you not only get to take advantage of the best prices for the conference but also get to choose from the range of accommodation on offer before it is all booked up.”
