The Rev Dr Alan McCann, rector of Holy Trinity Woodburn with the Rev Alan Hawkins, chief operations officer of the Anglican Church in North America, who was guest preacher on December 2.

Holy Trinity Woodburn welcomed the Rev Alan Hawkins, chief operations officer of the Anglican Church in North America, as guest preacher on Sunday December 2.

Mr Hawkins works for ACNA in the office of Primate Rev Dr Foley Beach, and was in Northern Ireland for a two day residential conference organised by GAFCON Ireland.

The Rev Dr Alan McCann, rector of Holy Trinity, said: “It was a pleasure to host Rev Hawkins and the congregation appreciated greatly his teaching from Mark 10 on the Rich Young Ruler’s encounter with Jesus Christ.

“Rev Hawkins had arrived in Dublin on Sunday morning and, despite some jet lag, preached at the morning Holy Service.”

This is the second guest from ACNA to be hosted by Holy Trinity.  A few years ago the Rev Ted Woods from Pittsburgh Diocese spent some days in the parish and also preached at the morning service.

Alan McCann said: “I look forward to continuing to strengthen the relationship with ACNA and Holy Trinity.”
