Nativity comes to life in Lisburn!

The Nativity came to life in Market Square, Lisburn, on Saturday December 8 when members of Lisburn Cathedral performed a ‘Live Nativity’ play.

This featured a real donkey and a real baby, and the play was based on an original script by Richard A Carter, St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. 

The narrators were Jack Netherton and Karen Webb.

The angel Gabriel (Jayne Martin) proclaims, “Glory to God in the highest Heaven and on earth peace among those whom he favours”. Included are narrators Jack Netherton and Karen Webb. Looking on are Councillor Uel Mackin (Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council) and Alderman William Leathem (Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee).

Lisburn Community Choir led the singing of some well-known Christmas carols and festive songs.  The special guests at the event were Councillor Uel Mackin (Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council) and Alderman William Leathem (Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee). 

After ‘Nativity Live,’ families were invited to enjoy ‘DAZZLE’ in Lisburn Cathedral, a free fun event for all ages.

There was tea, coffee, mulled juice and festive refreshments waiting for everyone with loads of fun activities for children and families.
