Safe Church – how your church can get involved

Wednesday January 23rd 2019

A training programme for churches interested in gaining Safe Church status to assist local people living with domestic violence or abuse is to be held in Christ Church, Ballynure, in March.

The Safe Church programme has been funded by Antrim & Newtownabbey Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP).

This course is particularly suited to members of the clergy and those with a responsibility for safeguarding within the church. Completion of tiers one and two will lead to the Safe Church Award, completion of the third tier will entitle each individual to receive the Safe Place Champions award.

The venue for all sessions is Christ Church, 21 Church Road, Ballynure, Ballyclare, BT39 9UF.

The training is CPD accredited, and thanks to the PCSP funding can be delivered free of charge, along with a supply of Safe Place Resources.

Dates are:

Tier 2: Monday March 11, 7.30pm – 9.30pm
