The Rev Lynne Gibson, rector of St Mark’s, Ballymash, presents the Baby Basics’ items to Sister Karen Webb from the North Belfast Centre of Mission. Jean Orr, Rector’s churchwarden, is on the left of the picture and Mrs Ann Armstrong is on the right.

Ballymacash Parish is the latest to make a presentation of items for new babies and their parents as part of the Baby Basics’ project run by the North Belfast Centre of Mission Connect Base.

Sister Karen Webb, Church Army Evangelist at Connect Base, visited St Mark’s Parish Church, on January 20 Ballymacash, to collect the items.

Baby Basics Belfast has been providing help and assistance to vulnerable families in the Belfast area for almost two years.

The project provides packs filled with baby clothes, baby bedding, toys, nappies, wipes, and toiletries for baby, mum and dad.

UTV recently visited Connect Base, located on the Shankill Road, to record an item on the Baby Basics’ project. There were hopes this would be screened on the 6pm news programme on January 23, but this did not happen, so keep an eye on the UTV news over the next few days – you may see some familiar faces!
