Thieves target Christ Church during service

Christ Church, Lisburn.

Police are hunting thieves who targeted the choir room at Christ Church Parish, Lisburn, on Sunday March 24 during the morning service.

The burglar made off with handbags, cash, bank cards and a mobile phone.

The PSNI said they believed the burglary occurred sometime between 11.30am and 12.40pm. They ask anyone with information to contact 101, quoting reference 668 24/03/19. Alternatively, anonymous information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The rector of Christ Church, the Ven Paul Dundas, said: “As a parish we are deeply distressed by this robbery and the effect on our choir members.  We are supporting them at this time.

“We thank the PSNI for their support and attention.  We encourage anybody from the community to report any information to the PSNI.”
