The Rev Earl Storey is to retire from his post as Editor of the Church of Ireland Gazette.

The Rev Earl Storey is to step down as Editor of the Church of Ireland Gazette.  Earl, who took up the post in June 2017, was thanked by the Board of Church of Ireland Press Ltd for having successfully led the re-launch of the Gazette over the past year.

Earl will be retiring from the role to continue his project-based work, but the Board said he leaves ‘a fine legacy in the new format monthly magazine.’

In a statement, the Board said: “The Gazette, under Earl’s editorship, has maintained its role to record and report matters of current interest in the Church with a fresh emphasis on balanced and in-depth articles. Earl also introduced new items and information of general interest to the widest possible spectrum of members of the Church and enhanced the all-island appeal of its content.”

The Chairman of the Board, Adrian Clements, commented: “We are most grateful to Earl for undertaking the task of re-inventing the Gazette for a modern age. The success of the new magazine is testament to his and the team’s hard work and dedication.”

Earl will hand over to a new editor in coming months and will continue to support the Gazette in a voluntary capacity.
