Commissioning of Diocesan Reader in Ballymena

Mr Richard Cotter, Finance and Administration Manager with Connor Diocese, was commissioned a Diocesan Lay Reader at a service in St Patrick’s, Ballymena, on Sunday June 9.

Richard is married to Andrea. He is a former pupil of Ballymena Academy, and has an Honours Degree in Business Studies from the University of Abertay, Dundee, a certificate level professional accountancy qualification from the ACCA accounting body, and a level 7 certificate from CMI (Chartered Managers Institute).

Prior to taking up the post with Connor Diocese in 2017, Richard worked for 21 years as a finance manager for All-Route Shipping NI Ltd.

Richard and Andrea both did the Church of Ireland’s Foundation Access Course, and Andrea is now training for Ordination at Theological College.

Richard was commissioned a Diocesan Reader by Bishop’s Commissary, Archdeacon George Davison. Preacher at the service was the Rev Alan McCann.
