Suicide and self-harm – parents’ information evening

Friday September 13th 2019

Holy Trinity Parish, Woodburn, Carrickfergus, is hosting an information evening for parents on the topic of self-harm and suicide among young people.

This evening, taking place in Holy Trinity Church on October 5, has been organised by Engage Connor Youth in association with The Big House, an organisation which seeks to support young people through difficulty. The Big House runs residentials for young people and training events for parents and leaders, as well as providing counselling services for young people across Northern Ireland.

Diocesan Youth Officer Christina Baillie, and Connor Youth Council, have been working with The Big House to support young people and their families in Connor, and you can read more about the project in a feature published in the June issue of Connor Connections.

The meeting in Holy Trinity is open to parents of young people aged 11-19, and begins at 7pm on Saturday October 5. For further information, contact the Rev Dr Alan McCann at rector@holytrinitycarrick.org.uk.
