Proving itself to be barking mad once again, Belfast Cathedral will host its third annual Pets’ Service on Sunday October 6 at 3.30pm.

All pets, and well behaved owners, are welcome to join in this wonderful service celebrating all creatures great and small.

The service is held close to St Francis of Assisi Day (celebrated on October 4), and there will be a blessing for all interested pets at the end of the service.

Dogs, cats, hamsters, parrots, snakes and every animal that attends, along with their human friends, will enjoy pet-friendly music, namely:

  • J.S Bach, arr. Taylor Sheep may safely graze (from Cantata 208)
  • Hymns 287, 517
  • Psalm 32 (Bairstow)
  • Howard Goodall, The Lord is my shepherd
  • Howells Paean
