The inaugural Archbishop’s Award in the Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade NI has been won by St Paul’s Company, Lisburn, making St Paul’s the CLCGB’s Champion Company for 2018/19.

Captain Andrew Maze was presented with the Award and £100 at the Brigade’s Annual Service in St Swithin’s, Magherafelt. This is the first year of the Archbishop’s Award and the CLCGB is pleased that Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, has given his blessing for this special award.

Companies attain points throughout the Brigade year by entering competitions, attending the Annual Service, participating in training courses, encouraging participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and making sure that accounts and returns are provided.

The Archbishop’s Award was well received in its inaugural year, and with a couple of tweaks, will be competed for again in 2019/20.
