“It costs about £1,200 a day – which works out at around £1.41 per minute – to have the Cathedral open.”

Holly Wilson, Head of Commercial Business at Belfast Cathedral, reveals this, and a lot more about the commercial life behind the scenes at St Anne’s, in an interview published on the Cathedral Quarter website.

Holly, who has worked in Belfast Cathedral since 2017, also pays tribute to Dean Stephen Forde, describing him as ‘the right man for it.’ She says: “He has the understanding that it [the Cathedral] can’t just be somewhere that opens on a Sunday and that’s it, and it deserves so much more. It deserves to be somewhere people can go.”
