Sock appeal for the homeless

Monday December 16th 2019

The Rev Derek Kerr, rector of the Parishes of Drummaul, Duneane and Ballyscullion, and Aurelia Kelly with a bag of donated socks.

Thanks to everyone in the Parishes of Drummaul, Duneane and Ballyscullion who have been donating socks for homeless shelters throughout Northern Ireland for the last three Sundays, in association with the #NorthCoastSocksAppeal.

A beautiful ‘Sock Tree’ was created by the talented Iris Fry.  Thanks also to Sam Stevenson for putting up the fabulous tree which was first used at the parish Harvest and now repurposed for the Christmas Appeal.

The parishes will continue to collect socks until the end of December – socks are the items least likely to be donated to homeless shelters.
