In this time of increased precautions in light of Covid-19, Hospital Chaplains in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust are still working as follows:
- Prioritising who they see for seriously ill, end of life care etc, and offering phone support.
- There will be changes to working hours and patterns – not yet firmly known.
- Chaplains will be providing care to those who have confirmed Covid-19 as needed. Many have the right to wear protective equipment to do so.
- A phone helpline staffed by chaplains is to be set up, based at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
