Streetreach Online happening across the diocese

Wednesday July 1st 2020

With participants from 12 different parishes across Connor Diocese, Streetreach Online is off to a great start!

The event, which will run until Friday July 3, started with participants meeting online for an orientation on Tuesday evening, June 30. During this time, Church Army Evangelist Stephen Whitten from Connect Base shared about how the programme will lead the young people deeper in their faith over the next few days.

Streetreach Online provides young people and leaders with daily devotionals each morning shared on the Engage Connor Youth Facebook page. These follow a daily theme of Prayer for Wednesday, Service on Thursday and Friday’s theme is Testimony.

The partnership with Mossley Parish will continue into 2021, and so the Rev Peter Jones led the group’s first devotional on Prayer.  This was followed by a range of ideas shared by Christina Baillie, Diocesan Youth Officer, for how individuals can respond.

Christina said: “It is a pleasure to see young people and youth leaders excited about the prospect of following Streetreach Online, continuing to develop our faith and challenging ourselves to serve God even while we cannot be together.

“We have tried to replicate the essence of Streetreach with teaching, activity and sharing together. All the ideas for activity can be done by individuals in their own home and on their own which makes it accessible to everyone – you don’t need to be a young person to take part!”
