Mark Jamison, a Connor Lay Reader based mainly in St Paul’s Parish, Lisburn, is well on his way to achieving his goal of running 5km a day for 100 consecutive days.
Mark is more than three quarters of the way through his challenge, and has raised more than £1,700 for NHS Charities Together, which supports families of front line workers within the NHS who are suffering during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He began his challenge on May 8, and will finish around August 15. Speaking before he started, Mark said: “At the moment, the world is battling Covid-19, and I am going to try to raise some funds as a thank you for those who are going into work in our hospitals, holding the hands of their patients, suffering unknown stress whilst wearing PPE (when they can get it) to try and keep us all safe and healthy.”
Mark is a father of two boys, and his wife works as a nurse in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
