The United Parish of Christ Church and St John’s, Ballyclare, has published an imaginative children’s story book for Christmas.
Two thousand copies of The Very Special Upside Down Christmas Tree have been printed, with most distributed free to primary school children in the greater Ballyclare area.
The book has been produced by Families’ Associate Dianne Hamilton, with the help of the children in the parish.
The rector, the Rev Jonny Campbell-Smyth said: “It links into our overall theme this year of ‘Upside Down Christmas – God upends our expectations.'”
As printed versions of The Very Special Upside Down Christmas Tree have now been delivered to hundreds of happy children, the United Parish is hoping to share it more widely online, and the book will shortly be available in e-reader format on the parish website.
The children’s book is just one of a number of Advent and Christmas initiatives organised by the United Parish – there has also been multi-coloured lights on the churches, a drive-in Carol Service, an online adult nativity and a turkey hamper giveaway!
