The United Parish of Ballynure and Ballyeaston in Ballyclare is running a number of initiatives to keep in touch with parishioners during the current lockdown.

These include monthly Family Feast nights. The rector, the Rev Jonny Campbell-Smyth, said: “The aim is to gather people together on Zoom in their kitchens. The host shares a favourite meal with everyone and, while online, takes the families through the recipe.”

Tasty!

Last Saturday evening it was the turn of the Campbell-Smyths to teach everyone how to make their favourite Chicken Chorizo Pasta recipe.

“The secret of Family Feasts is to have meals that are quick and easy to make,” said Jonny. “Everyone who joined successfully made the meal and the feedback from parishioners after eating their dinners was very positive. We look forward to our February gathering with another new recipe hosted by another family.”

He added: “This is a great way to stay in touch with people and lift all of us during these tough times.”

Anyone whose taste buds were tickled by the sound of Chicken Chorizo Pasta will find the Campbell-Smyth recipe on the parish website.
