Bishop’s online Lent Talks get underway tonight
Our Bishop, the Rt Rev George Davison, invites you to join him on the Diocesan Facebook page at 7pm tonight, Ash Wednesday, for the first of his online Lent Talks.
The theme for the series is ‘Faith in the tough times’ and the title of tonight’s talk is ‘Honest Communication.’
This is the first of a series of six talks, and these will be made available for download after the Facebook premiere. Bishop George will include some questions which might assist any parishes who wish to hold an online discussion group after listening to each talk.
Bishop George will also be sharing some reflections on his first talk in Thursday’s Irish News, and these reflections will be carried in the publication each Thursday during Lent.
Speaking ahead of the series, Bishop George said: “The challenges of the past year have brought disruption to the way in which we relate to one another in our parishes.
“In this series of midweek talks for Lent, I hope to explore some of the ways that our faith in Christ not only sustains us through the difficult days, but challenges us to grow in Christian love and service to one another and the communities where God has placed us.”
