‘Faith in the tough times’ – Lent series underway
The first in a series of six Lent Talks by the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, was shared on social media on Ash Wednesday, February 17.
The theme of Bishop George’s series is Faith in the tough times, and the title of his first talk was ‘Honest Communication.’
The Bishop directed viewers to Habakkuk 1:1-4, and posed a number of discussion questions:
• When do you find it easiest to be a follower of Jesus? ….and hardest?
• Think about the ways that you pray to God. Do they resemble the way that you communicate with other people? What ways are they different?
• Would you ever entertain the idea of complaining to God in your prayers like Habakkuk? Why… or why not?
Bishop George’s Lent Reflection in the Irish News on February 18.
This talk also formed the basis of a Reflection shared in today’s Irish News (Thursday February 18). Bishop George will be sharing an article in the Irish News each Thursday during Lent.
The second Lent Talk will be premiered on the Connor Facebook page at 7pm on Wednesday February 24, and will also be available for download via the Diocesan YouTube channel.
