Bishop’s second Lent Talk online

‘Unexpected Answers’ – the second in a series of six Lent Talks by the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, on the theme Faith in the tough times, is now online.

The video premiered on the diocesan Facebook page on Wednesday February 24, and the series will continue on Wednesday evenings for the next four weeks.

The bishop directed viewers to Habakkuk 1:5-11, and posed a number of discussion questions:

1. When you think about your prayers, do you always expect God’s answer to come in the way you expect? Can you think of times when you’ve had answers to prayer that surprised you?
2. Do you find it difficult to think of a God who loves us, but still might chastise us?
3. In what way might God be speaking to his Church through the experience of living through coronavirus? What ways might he be challenging us to do things differently?

This talk also formed the basis of a reflection shared in the Irish News (Thursday February 25). Bishop George will be sharing an article in the Irish News each Thursday during Lent.
