The ladies from Ballymoney, Finvoy and Rasharkin branch of Mothers’ Union (MU) have been very busy gathering and preparing items for wash bags following an appeal from Sanna Mallon, Church of Ireland Chaplain at the Royal Victoria and Musgrave Park hospitals.

The ladies have made up 75 bags for distribution in the hospitals.

Margaret Marshall, mother of branch chairperson Roslyn Graham, was also very busy during the lockdown, knitting dozens of trauma teddies.  On behalf of her mother, Roslyn was pleased to deliver 160 teddies to Connect Base, Connor Diocese’s North Belfast Centre of Mission.

Connect Base is a hub for Baby Basics Belfast which supports families with new babies. The proejct has an ongoing need for trauma teddies and Baby Basics co-ordinator Karen Webb was delighted to receive them.  Margaret also knits premature baby cardigans and hats as part of other Mothers’ Union outreach projects.
