Bishop’s fifth talk focuses on ‘The God of Past & Present’

Thursday March 18th 2021

Bishop George Davison shared the penultimate talk in his Lent series on the topic ‘Faith in the tough times’ online on the evening of St Patrick’s Day, Wednesday March 17.

This talk, the fifth in a series of six, was on the theme ‘The God of Past & Present.’ The Reading was from Habakkuk 3:2-15, and the bishop also posed a number of discussion questions.

Discussion Questions:

  1. Habakkuk thought about God’s past activity and prayed that he would ‘renew them in our day.’ How do we as church members encourage each other to remember God’s past activity when we meet together?
  2. What do you think that we should expect when God renews his deeds in our day? What would that look like?
  3. Think of times in your own experience when you have known God’s blessing or when you felt that God was particularly near. In what way does that affect how you think of God now?

Bishop George shares a reflection on his talk on ‘The God of Past & Present’ in today’s Irish News.
