The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, has extended the good wishes of the diocese to the newly elected Bishop of Yei, the Rev Levi Marandulu Yepete.

The announcement of the Bishop-elect of Connor’s partner diocese was made by the Bishops of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan on May 8.

After his consecration and enthronement, Bishop-elect Levi will be the third Bishop of Yei, succeeding the Rt Rev Hilary Luate Adeba who retired at the start of this year.

“On behalf of the Diocese of Connor, I offer my warmest good wishes to the Rev Levi Marandulu Yepete on his appointment as Bishop-elect for the Diocese of Yei, South Sudan,” Bishop George said.

“I know that I can assure him of the prayers of many friends in Connor as he prepares for his consecration and assumes the leadership of the Episcopal Church in Yei.”

Linda Abwa, Partnership Co-ordinator with Church Mission Society Ireland (CMSI) said: “We congratulate Bishop-elect Levi on this appointment and invite all within the CMSI family to keep him in prayer as he steps forward in faith.

“We also pray for the Diocese of Yei in this time of transition, and excitement as God’s people look to a new chapter in the life of the church.”

Connor Diocese has been in partnership with the Diocese of Yei since 2007.
