Bishop George Davison joins the 50th anniversary celebrations in Mossley Parish on May 30.

The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, joined parishioners in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Mossley, on Sunday May 30 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the parish.

Mossley Parish was formally created on Sunday May 30 1971, following the establishment of a new worshipping community in Newtownabbey in 1967.

Bishop George was the preacher at two thanksgiving services held in the church.

The rector, the Rev Peter Jones, said: “In the year ahead, we hope to gather for an anniversary dinner in a local hotel, further develop our Christian mission and ministry in new and innovative ways and continue to reach out into our local community.  We look forward to welcoming Streetreach back to Mossley in July 2022.”
