World Vision UK is inviting parishes to partner with the organisation which focuses on helping the most vulnerable children in the most difficult places overcome poverty and experience fullness of life.
Inspired by its Christian faith, World Vision UK helps children of all faiths and none in some of the world’s most dangerous places. The charity believes it takes a whole community to create happy and fulfilling childhoods.
Its integrated approach includes water, healthcare, education, child protection, and income generation and its aim is to allow every child to fulfil their God-given potential.
World Vision UK has shared the following on its work.
Introducing Chosen
‘I choose you’ is a powerful message of God’s love – World Vision’s Chosen is an experience that supports your church and congregation’s overseas mission. This is child sponsorship with a twist – giving vulnerable children the chance to choose.
Choice is dignity, empowerment, the chance to have a say in your own future. Many vulnerable children have no choices in their day-to-day lives – poverty has taken that away from them. You can give it back. For the first time, Chosen puts the power to choose a sponsor into the hands of the child.
After the initial pilots just before the pandemic started, World Vision are able to offer Chosen again, with dates available through 2022. They can support you every step of the way to bring the opportunity to be part of Chosen to your congregation.
They will provide powerful resources including sermon notes, videos and case studies as well as support from our team, so that you can invite your church family to put themselves forward as sponsors. Then, at a special party, children in one of their communities will be able to choose their sponsors from the photos displayed – uniting your community with theirs. You will also find out why they chose you!

Fragile contexts – Churches in Partnership & individual giving
You will have no doubt heard of the devastating situation in Afghanistan, and as families brace for the freezing winter months ahead, the already desperate situation for children and families is declining even more rapidly. World Vision has been in Afghanistan for 20 years, helping over six million people, and we continue to walk alongside families in their most desperate time of need.
Wherever it works, World Vision’s focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life, helpuing children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by Christian faith.
Come together with World Vision and support God’s work with communities and protect children living in the world’s most dangerous places. Places like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Sudan and Somalia, where lives are torn apart by conflict and violence; in refugee camps where children arrive traumatised and desperate for safety.
With survival comes hope, and your church is invited to take the first step on a journey that will help bring transformation, light and love to children and families in the most fragile countries in the world. Whether giving as a church, or inviting your congregation to get involved individually.
