Thursday July 28th 2022

Bishop George Davison at the Lambeth Conference. With him are other Northern Ireland Bishops – the Rt Rev Ian Ellis (Clogher); the Rt Rev Andrew Foster (Derry and Raphoe) and the Rt Rev David McClay (Down and Dromore).

The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, has joined hundreds of other bishops from across the worldwide Anglican Communion in Canterbury, Kent, for the 2022 Lambeth Conference.

Wednesday July 27 was a welcome and introductions day, and in a Facebook post, Bishop George said it was good to meet and spend time with the small group of bishops from across the communion that he had been introduced to by Zoom in preparation for the conference,

He also met with others he knew before the conference, including Bishop David Court from Grimsby, who Bishop George first met in Oak Hill College; Bishop Elias Chakupewa from Tabora, Tanzania, who stayed with Bishop George and his family in Carrickfergus rectory; the Rev Dr Robert Heaney, former Crosslinks Mission Partner in Tanzania, and now a professor in Virginia USA; and Bishop David Ireri from Embu, Kenya who the Bishop met at an Anglican Leadership Conference in the US in 2018.

He has also been speaking to Bishop Levi Mapandulu from Connor’s link diocese of Yei, South Sudan.

You can follow Bishop George’s Lambeth experience on his Bishop of Connor Facebook page.
