Information day held for Holy Land pilgrimage

Tuesday October 4th 2022

Bishop George Davison chats with people who attended the Holy Land pilgrimage information day in Kilbride.

An information day for people wanting to find out more about next May’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land with Bishop George Davison and the Rev Canon David Humphries was held in Kilbride Parish on October 1.

Canon Humphries has led more than 25 pilgrimages over the years and has vast experience of the many Biblical sites in Israel.

The purpose of the information day was to give more detail regarding the places the pilgrimage would visit, transport, accommodation and cost. There was a very informative visual display, with many artefacts gathered during previous pilgrimages.

The Rev Canon David Humphries outlines details of the pilgrimage which is planned for May 2023.

Bishop George joined around 30 visitors to the church hall for the event, and a number of former pilgrims from St Bride’s Parish Church were on hand to tell of their experiences on their trips to the Holy Land.

An Israeli-style lunch was served giving everyone a taste of what the food in the Middle East is like.

Canon Humphries then gave a talk on the pilgrimage, explaining in detail the finer points of what anyone going next year would experience.

Anyone who was not able to attend this meeting but would like more information should contact Canon Humphries on 028 9332 2979 / email wdhumphries@hotmail.com.
