A new member of staff has joined the Connor diocesan team. Sue Majury, a parishioner of Holy Trinity Woodburn, has been appointed part-time clerical officer.
Sue’s role will involve Synod administration, organising agendas and taking minutes of meetings of the Honorary Secretariat and Diocesan Council along with other clerical office duties.
Her normal working hours are Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from 9.30 to 3.45pm, with flexibility to attend meetings as required.
Sue joins finance and administration manager Richard Cotter, Bishop’s PA Lorraine Ogilby, clerical officer Elaine Wright and receptionist Garvin Jess in the Connor administration team at Church House, Belfast.
A native of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, Sue moved to Carrickfergus in 1990 when she married John, and they have two daughters, Francesca, 29, and Charlotte, 24.
Sue worked for Barclays Bank in England and after moving to Northern Ireland worked for Allied Irish Bank (AIB) for 30 years, taking voluntary severance in December 2021. She took a year out of the workplace to spend time with family and friends and to travel and took up her new post with Connor Diocese in mid-February.
