Welcome to David McGrory who has joined the Connor Diocesan Staff team as Safeguarding Compliance Officer.
This is a new part-time position, and David will be responsible for ensuring the safeguarding policies and procedures across the diocese are complied with.
Changes to safeguarding legislation mean that Connor, along with other dioceses within the Church of Ireland, have created this new role. David said: “My job will be to offer parishes assistance, support and guidance in conjunction with the Church of Ireland Safeguarding Officer.”
A native of Edinburgh, David moved to Northern Ireland 27 years ago. He previously worked as a manager in the Civil Service, retiring in 2021.
David can be contacted via Church House reception on 028 9082 8830.
Speaking of his new role, David said: “It is something totally different and I am looking forward to not only the challenge, but to the variety of work. I hope to help wherever I can.”
David previously volunteered with Victim Support, and in his free time enjoys walking and travelling.
