Five young musicians were installed into Belfast Cathedral’s Music Department at a Service of Choral Evensong on Sunday October 1.
Connie Lupton, Jessica Scott and James Osborne join the Cathedral Choir as Choral Scholars (Alto, Soprano, and Tenor respectively), whilst Darragh Magee joins the Music Department as the Billy Adair Memorial Organ Scholar, and Finn Sloan as Junior Organ Scholar.
Master of Music, Mr Jack Wilson, said: “It was wonderful to welcome the Scholars and their families to join the wider Cathedral community.
“All five individuals have already made a lasting impression on the musical and liturgical life of our Cathedral, showing their dedication, willingness, and passion in their duties.
“They also made a significant contribution to Sunday’s service, with James singing the tenor solo in Howells’ Collegium Regale Nunc Dimittis, Jessica the soprano solo in Will Todd’s Lead me, Lord, and our worship concluding with a rousing performance of Pardini’s Toccata on Amazing Grace by Darragh.
A reception in the Cathedral hall followed the service.
